Mary Catherine Burns is a composer and pianist based in Atlanta, Georgia currently obtaining her Master of Music in Film Scoring at the Berklee College of Music. She specializes in music for film, as well as classical and jazz genres. Along with piano and music theory instruction, she enjoys arranging, orchestrating, and composing music for film and various media.
Mary Catherine began playing piano as a child and studied it throughout high school, later becoming a piano instructor to students of all ages in Savannah, Georgia before teaching in Atlanta. While focusing on piano performance and technique, she also teaches music theory and appreciation. She teaches in a variety of musical styles depending on what the student is interested in, including classical, jazz, rock, pop, R&B, and soundtrack. She loves teaching students of all levels and ages.
