Our spring semester of WeeJam Music & Movement is now accepting sign ups for kids ages 0-6! We are offering two class times on Saturday mornings: 9:15am and 10:15am. Classes last between 40-45 minutes and include a different featured instrument every week. Kids learn the basics of rhythm and melody allowing them to be better prepared for lessons and music-making in the future. Much like a language, kids that are exposed to music through an appropriate curriculum before the age of 9 have a much easier time developing an ear and learning musical fundamentals. Our Academy of Music Performance (AMP) is back for the spring season! This unique program is geared toward students of all ages who want to join a band and learn how to perform in a group setting. At the end of the semester a public performance at Decatur’s famed Eddie’s attic allows performers to show off their stuff in a venue that has launched acts such as the Indigo Girls and John Mayer. The AMP program is a great way to go beyond individual lessons, connect with other musicians and develop the skills needed to play in a band. Registration is open through early Feb. but the earlier the better as our classes have been filling up quickly.

To all of our customers – thank you so much for shopping and making music with us in 2011. The year brought a lot of highlights including moving into our new Conyers space in the Salem Gate shopping center, a growing lessons program in both Conyers and Decatur, 4 sessions of WeeJam (our amazing program for kids ages 0-6) and 2 great semesters of our Academy of Music Performance (AMP) where some our youngest performers in the history of the program took the stage at Eddies Attic. We are excited to do even more in 2012 to help our communities make music and know that with the continued support of the amazing folks in Conyers, Decatur and surrounding areas we can make it all happen.

So with that said we just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that support us and other local small businesses – it is because of people like you that we can continue to thrive and grow.
